The chamber’s core mission is to promote and support the exchange of business, trade, investment, technology and information as well as culture between Sweden and the state of Ohio. SACC Ohio is one of the 20 chambers across the U.S. that collaborate under the umbrella organization SACC-USA, and its partners: the Embassy of Sweden in the United States, the Embassy of the United States, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden.

​​​​​​​The office is based in Cleveland, which together with its metro area is the largest commercial center in Ohio. Cleveland also boasts major shipping ports for the Great Lakes and is home to the iconic Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! SACC-Ohio has recently embarked on steps towards a satellite operation in Columbus to better manage the important Central & Southern Ohio regions. This strategic location houses nearly 50% of the U.S. manufacturing market, households, and population within overnight shipping distance, making Ohio a key hub for business and logistics.

Job Description

SACC-Ohio offers a Swedish student the chance to be directly involved in the chamber, providing a unique opportunity to gain invaluable, hands-on experience and business related skills in an international organization. Additionally, the position offers exceptional networking opportunities through close collaboration with our Board of Directors, as well as access to our extensive membership base of over 2,300 SACC affiliated organizations across the U.S.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and coordinating events for the chamber.
  • Creating engaging social media content and materials to strengthen online presence.
  • Writing SACC Ohio’s monthly newsletter, directly reaching over 250 stakeholders.
  • Being the main point of contact for SACC-Ohio's members as well as coordinating meetings with new potential members.
  • Continuous communication and outreach efforts such as recruiting new business members and sponsors, as well as working on marketing and branding for the midwestern region.
  • Participating in board meetings and preparing relevant material.
  • You will have the opportunity to travel to different events. For example, our last large event SACC-Summit was held in Chicago. 
In addition to the above, you will also have the possibility to work with our member companies. 

Requirements

We are seeking a proactive intern who demonstrates initiative, is solution-oriented, and possesses the confidence to engage with potential leads independently.
  • Currently pursuing, or recently graduated with a degree in, Economics, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Swedish citizenship (for U.S. visa purposes).
  • Confident fluency in English both in writing and verbal.
  • Strong communications and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, juggling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Put theory into practice
