History of the Crayfish Party

Crayfish parties are generally held during August, a tradition that started because crayfish harvesting in Sweden was, for most of the 20th century, legally limited to late summer. Today, the “kräftpremiär” date in early August has no legal significance. Dining is traditionally outdoors. Customary party accessories are comical paper hats, paper tablecloths, paper lanterns (often depicting the Man in the Moon), and bibs.A crayfish party is a traditional summertime eating and drinking celebration in the Nordic countries. The tradition originated in Sweden, where a crayfish party is called a kräftskiva. The tradition has also spread to Finland via the Swedish-speaking population of that country.

“Get to Know Each Other and Really Network”

See up to 10 presentations in one evening!

Every Swedish, (SACC) & British, (BACC) Chamber member

has an opportunity to present their business, their background and what they’re working on

Presentations are up to 5 minutes each

Our speakers: Any of us!
This is a unique opportunity to get to know each other even better. All of us have very impressive backgrounds. Some are working on special projects in business or as volunteers for local cultural societies and not-for-profit organizations. This is the perfect opportunity to talk about these projects. A projector and screen will be available for those who want to get high-tech.   You need to provide your own computer with your presentation media.

NetworkingAfter the presentations – “networking” over hors d’oeuvres and cocktails!

The presentations will certainly promote “networking.” Everyone seems to have a problem with “networking” . . . no one can define it . . . what you can’t define . . . you can’t control . . .You can’t enter your financial orbit with your contacts unless you use the same economic and communication launching pad.

So here is a definition that will transform business as we continue in the 21st Century. This is the best definition of “networking” by a bestselling author, John Naisbitt — He wrote Megatrends“Networking is the exchange of IdeasInformation… and Resources.”

All chamber members do this naturally so this will certainly be a fun event and great way to get to know each other better and really “Network”
